My Favourite TV Science Documentaries

I’m a big fan of science documentaries and I guess I haven’t missed any yet. The following are my favourite TV Science documentaries of all times (in no particular order):

History Channel’s The Universe:

All of the 5 seasons of History channel’s ‘The Universe’ are absolutely amazing. It premiered in May’ 2007 and contains spectacular computer generated animations and interviews with experts. Some of the best episodes were: secrets of the sun, alien galaxies, life and death of a star, most dangerous places, search for E.T, beyond the big bang, alien planets, the milky way, dark matter/dark energy, cosmic collisions, biggest things in space, parallel universes, light speed, edge of space, the day the moon was gone, science fiction – science fact etc.

Tony Robinson presents this spectacular five-part series investigating the history of natural disasters, from the planet's beginnings to the present day

Watch the full catastrophe series on YouTube or Channel 4's 4oD.

Edge of the Universe

In this three-part series the world's leading astronomers and cosmologists reveal extraordinary new discoveries about the shape and structure of the universe and what lies beyond its edge

Watch the full series on YouTube or Channel 4’s 4oD.

The Quantum Revolution:

Dr. Michio Kaku explores the cutting edge of quantum science in this short documentary.
The quantum revolution could turn many ideas of science fiction into science fact -- from metamaterials with mind-boggling properties like invisibility through limitless quantum energy and room temperature superconductors to Arthur C. Clarke's space elevator. Some scientists even forecast that in the latter half of the century everybody will have a personal fabricator that re-arranges molecules to produce everything from almost anything. The question is: how will we ultimately use our mastery of matter?

Life After People:

Learn what would happen to Earth should the human race somehow become extinct in this interesting hypothetical documentary.

World's Most Dangerous Drug

Methamphetamines affect the brain in numerous ways. The drug tricks the brain into thinking that extra dopamine is released. Eventually, the brain shuts down.

The Ultimate Predators

This rare documentary is about some of the most fascinating predators in the wild. Njoy all my full length films –spin.
